Tears of Metal: Achievements Guide
The trickiest achievement in Tears of Metal is Area of Annihilation โ 75+ kills in a single attack. Here's the community-tested method, plus what we know about the rest of the list.
Area of Annihilation (75 kills, one attack)
The achievement: kill 75 or more enemies in a single attack. Requirements first:
- Ruadh must be unlocked.
- His weapon Iron Maiden must be unlocked โ it comes from a quest that appears while playing the campaign as Ruadh.
The step-by-step method
- Equip the Iron Maiden.
- Start a campaign solo, without an ally or companion (allies steal kills).
- Pick any starting map โ Act 1-1 is the community recommendation.
- Kill only the first and second wave captains, and let the fodder enemies stack up.
- On the third wave, kite the fodder behind you, then swing the hammer three times (right-click).
- On the fourth swing, turn around and smash into the stacked fodder โ one hit, 75+ kills, achievement unlocked.
Other achievement notes
The rest of the achievement list tracks campaign progress, boss kills, and weapon unlocks. Community notes so far:
- Boss and act-clear achievements unlock per campaign completion โ expect to replay Acts for the full set.
- Weapon-related unlocks (like Wallace's Seraphic Blade) are tied to their own achievements โ see the Seraphic Blade guide.
- The game is in Early Access โ the list will grow with content updates.
FAQ
Why do I need to play solo for Area of Annihilation?
Allies and companions kill fodder before you can stack them โ solo keeps the wave intact for your one big swing.
Which map is best for the 75-kill achievement?
Act 1-1 is the recommended starting map; Act 3 works for players with strong Clan Emblems.
Do I need Iron Maiden specifically?
The community method uses Ruadh's Iron Maiden hammer โ its big AoE swing makes 75 kills realistic.
Is the achievement list finished?
The game is Early Access, so more achievements will likely be added.
